Our Team

At Frederick Flight Center, we are lucky to have an incredibly diverse community of students and customers with a wide range of aviation desires and goals. In order to keep up with the demands of this varied customer base, we rely on a talented, enthusiastic and dedicated family of instructors and staff:

Jason Cobb

Chief Flight Instructor – CFI, CFII

Jason began his flight training in 1997, earning his private pilot certificate while at Indiana State University. In ’99 he joined the Air Force and was a Flying Crew Chief on the C5 Galaxy out of Dover, DE. After six years of service, Jason was honorably discharged, obtained his Aviation Mechanic Airframe and Powerplant, and has been working aircraft maintenance the past 15 years with a three year detour to complete his flight ratings up to CFI at MTSU in Tennessee.

Jason loves to travel, fly, run, ride motorcycles, spend time outdoors, and simply be around people. He spends much of his free time exploring the region’s grass runways and nearby restaurants with his girlfriend.

Aaron Herrington

Assistant Chief Flight Instructor – CFI, CFII, MEI

Aaron can only be described as a total aviation nerd. In college, Aaron studied at the University of Maryland and obtained both a Bachelors Degree and Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering as well as completing his private pilot certificate on the side. Upon graduating, he went to work designing helicopters and drones for the U.S. Army at the Army Research Laboratory and during his 7 years working as an engineer, Aaron bought a Cessna 177 Cardinal with some friends and obtained his ratings through CFI and CFII. In 2017, he quit his engineering job to pursue flying full time. Aaron currently works for TMC Jets and is ATP rated and PIC Typed in the Hawker 400XP. Aaron’s true passion, however, is instructing and he is a, CFI, CFI-I, and MEI. Additionally, Aaron recently became a certificated helicopter pilot and plans on eventually adding CFI privileges for rotorcraft.
